What "Governed Autonomy" Actually Means

"Autonomous agent" gets used two ways. One means nobody is watching. The other means the work runs on its own and every step is accountable. Only the second one belongs near your business.

Here's how the fleet is wired. Every job runs as a governed mission. Before an action can touch anything, it passes a policy gate. When the job finishes, it produces a signed receipt — what was run, what it produced, whether the evidence actually checked out.

Why the receipt matters more than the answer

A model can tell you it did something. A receipt records whether it did. If the two disagree, the receipt is the honest one — and it's the one we keep.

That's the whole trick: the autonomy is real, the accountability is built into the same loop, and you get to read the trail. Speed you can trust beats speed you have to babysit.
